The Lion’s Den – 651 E. 15th

It’s not every day you walk by a stuffed lion on your way to the bathroom. But that’s what happened to me last weekend while waiting for my triple decker grilled cheese at The Lion’s Den.

I am happy to report a high standard of cleanliness was met on multiple levels, especially considering it seemed like this was the sole bathroom for staff and customers alike. Visually, this bathroom receives top marks for its cheery aqua-turquoise coloured walls, and the door in even brighter shades of red and yellow.

The best part of the Lion’s Den bathroom was the mirror above the sink, which was bejeweled with pretty coloured pieces of glass, bling, and a toy animal. I was so dazzled it didn’t phase me when the tap handle came off in my hand as I tried to turn the water on. Am I a sucker? Maybe. But with a lion, caribbean-coloured walls, and a bling mirror, can you blame me?
